Please also note:
minä perhonen was founded in Tokyo in 1995 by designer Akira Minagawa. The name is Finnish — minä, "I", and perhonen, "butterfly". The house draws its own textiles by hand and realises them through custom dyeing, embroidery and weaving, which is why its fabrics feel like nothing else.
felice gathers birds and butterflies among flowers, all of them sharing the same simple pleasure in being alive. The textile has a lovely three-dimensional quality to it — partly the rustic touch of a woodblock print, partly the soft shading that only embroidery can give. Blue thread is worked into a gentle cotton and wool blend, so there is real texture under the hand.
Sized for the A5 book, which slips inside. The "butterfly-stopper" pen holders double as a clasp to keep the cover shut, so the embroidery stays protected in a bag. It is the kind of cover you find yourself running a thumb over while you think about what to write next.
